More about this voice
Where the honk comes from
| Part | Setting | What you hear |
|---|---|---|
| Honk | Midrange +10 dB around 1 kHz | The pinched ring of a voice aimed through the nose |
| No chest | Bass cut below 250 Hz | All warmth removed, so the voice sits in the face |
| Stuffiness | Treble cut above 5 kHz | Less air and sparkle, as with a blocked nose |
| Smaller head | Tone +1 | A slightly tighter, narrower speaker |
| Note | Pitch 0 | Still your own speaking pitch |
Act the nose
- Lean on m, n and ng. Those are the sounds that already travel through the nose, and the 1 kHz peak makes them buzz.
- Flatten your vowels and stretch them a little, the way a bored clerk or a know-it-all does.
- Keep your pitch range narrow. A droning, one-note delivery reads as nasal faster than any setting.
- Complaints, corrections and overly precise explanations are the natural lines for it.
Honk, head cold or whine
- Main clip: the plain nasal voice. A nerdy sidekick, an officious desk worker, a comedy narrator.
- Treble cut at 2.5 kHz: a head cold. Duller and more blocked, for a sick-day sketch. Swap your m for b and n for d and it is complete.
- Pitch +3 with the peak moved to 1.6 kHz: nasal and whining. Higher and thinner, for a pest, a tattletale or a small cartoon creature.

| Midrange | +10 dB around 1 kHz |
| Compressor | steadier volume (4:1 from -24 dB, then +4 dB) |

Free nasal voice changer FAQ
Does it fix a nasal voice or make one?
It makes one. Nothing here removes nasality from a voice; the effect adds the honk on purpose, for characters and comedy.
Can I use the nasal voice in Roblox voice chat?
No. Roblox is a desktop and console app and can't use Facecam Virtual Mic. It does work in calls that run in a Chrome tab, such as discord.com, so you can talk to the same friends there.
Why is it quieter in the low notes?
Everything below 250 Hz is cut on purpose. A compressor then evens out the level, so you don't need to raise your voice.
