More about this voice

Why it only goes down a little

Big drops in pitch start to sound slowed down and boomy. Pitch -4, with a smaller change to Tone, is enough to move a typical higher voice into a male range while keeping your words crisp.

A gentle bass boost adds chest, and the treble is turned down a touch so S sounds don't stay bright.

Older or deeper

This preset aims at a young adult man. For a bigger, older sound, start from the deep voice preset instead. It goes much lower and keeps your volume steady.

Delivery tips

  • Slow down slightly. Lower voices tend to sound more relaxed.
  • Use less upward inflection at the end of sentences.
  • Avoid whispering: breathy sounds keep their original brightness and stand out.

Male voice changer FAQ

Why is the preset called boy?

That's its name in the tool's preset list. The voice itself is tuned to sound like an adult man, not a child.

Does it work on a voice that's already low?

It will make it lower still, which can get muddy. Low voices are better served by the announcer or deep presets.

Is this a female to male voice changer?

Yes. It lowers your voice enough to move most higher voices into a male range. Speak a little slower and with flatter endings and it reads as a man's voice more often.
