Villain voice changer

The villain voice preset lowers your voice a little and adds light grit and the sound of a big hall, for a calm, menacing bad guy rather than a monster.

A villain monologue from text

Writing a villain's lines for a video or a game? Type them into the Character Voice Generator, pick a deep voice such as Atlas and add the Villain effect. It's the same effect as this preset, applied to typed speech, and you get a file to download.

More about this voice

Smooth, not monstrous

The drop is moderate (Pitch -4), so you still sound like a person in control. There's only a touch of distortion: enough edge to sound dangerous, not enough to growl. A medium reverb puts you in a large room without washing out your words.

Playing the part

  • Slow down and enunciate every consonant.
  • Drop your volume and lean into the mic for a close, intimate threat.
  • Smile while you talk. It changes the tone more than any setting here.

Villain voice changer FAQ

Does it sound like a famous movie villain?

It's an original villain archetype. It isn't modelled on, or named after, any film character.

Can I make it darker?

For a deeper, inhuman villain, the scary presets go further down with heavier distortion.
