Anonymous voice changer
The anonymous preset is a setting of Facecam's voice changer that disguises your voice by making it lower with a slowed-down sound and adding a cold, slightly broken electronic edge.

More about this voice
What it changes
Most of Facecam's deep presets keep the voice sounding natural. This one doesn't: the whole voice drops together (Pitch -6), the slowed-tape sound. That changes both things people recognise a voice by: how high it is and its overall tone.
A little distortion and a faint electronic buzz add a rough edge. The bass and treble are trimmed so words stay clear, and loud and quiet moments are evened out, which gives less of your speaking style away.
What it can't hide
- Your words, accent, pace and pet phrases. People who know you can still recognise those.
- The change itself. It's a disguise, not a lock: someone could roughly undo it on a recording.
- Phone calls. The Facecam Virtual Mic only works on websites in Chrome, not on phone calls, phone apps or desktop apps.
Anonymous, masked horror or deep
| Anonymous | Masked horror | Deep | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pitch | -6 | -5 | -7 |
| Tone | moves with the pitch | -3 | -3 |
| Edge | light distortion and buzz | gravelly distortion | none |
| Sounds like | a hidden source on the news | a slasher on the phone | a big natural voice |
Use it fairly
Good uses are privacy on a stream, a call with strangers, or a hacker character in a game. Using a disguised voice to threaten, harass or trick someone is still all of those things.
Anonymous voice changer FAQ
Can it disguise my voice on a phone call?
No. It only works for websites in Chrome, such as Discord, Google Meet or Zoom on the web.
Will it keep me anonymous?
It changes how you sound, not what you say. If being identified would put you at risk, don't rely on a voice changer alone.
Why does it sound slowed down?
On purpose. The slowed-down sound makes it harder to match to your normal voice.
