Voice changer for Zoom and Microsoft Teams

Facecam's voice changer works in Zoom and Microsoft Teams when you join from the browser, the Zoom Web App or Teams on the web in Chrome, and pick the Facecam Virtual Mic.

Real-Time Voice Changer: change your voice live

Your browser will ask for microphone access when you click.

Set it up in Zoom and Teams

  1. 01

    Zoom: join from the browser

Go to app.zoom.us/wc and select Join a meeting, or use the “Join from your browser” link on the meeting invite page. You don't need to sign in to join.

  2. 02

    Zoom: choose the mic

In the meeting, select the arrow next to Mute → Audio settings and choose “Facecam Virtual Mic”. If effects get cut, try switching Audio Profile from Zoom background noise removal to browser built-in noise suppression.

  3. 03

    Teams: open it in Chrome

Go to teams.microsoft.com and sign in. Teams on the web supports the latest three versions of Chrome.

  4. 04

    Teams: choose the mic

Before a call, select Settings and more (…) → Settings → Devices and set Microphone to “Facecam Virtual Mic”. In a meeting, use More actions → Audio settings.

Tested by Facecam team. Facecam extension 2.1.0 (test build) in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple silicon), with Chromium's built-in test camera and microphone, not signed in to any app. We opened the Zoom Web App's join page, not a meeting and checked from inside that page that its device list listed Facecam Virtual Mic and got sound from it. We didn't sign in or join a call there, so Zoom's own menus in the steps come from Zoom's help pages (see Sources).

If it doesn't work

ProblemFix
No “Join from your browser” link in ZoomThe host or admin turned it off, or the meeting uses end-to-end encryption. Only the host can change that.
Zoom cuts my effectTry the other Audio Profile option in Audio settings; Zoom's background noise removal is built to strip non-speech sound.
Teams opens the desktop appOn the meeting join page, pick the option to join on the web instead of opening the app.
The mic list in Teams is missing FacecamReload the Teams tab with the extension on, then reopen Devices.

More about Zoom and Teams

What the web versions lack

Both companies recommend their desktop apps, and some features are desktop-only. Zoom's Original sound for musicians isn't in the Web App. Teams on the web lacks voice isolation, high-fidelity music mode and automatic mic sensitivity. None of those are needed for a voice effect.

Work meetings

Changing your voice in a work or school meeting without telling people can break workplace rules and trust. Use it where it's clearly a bit of fun, or for accessibility reasons your team knows about.

Questions

Can I use it in the Zoom desktop app?

No. The Zoom app only sees microphones installed on your computer, and Facecam's mic lives in Chrome.

Does the host see that I'm using a voice changer?

Zoom and Teams just see a microphone named Facecam Virtual Mic, and people in the meeting hear the effect.
