Free voice changer for Twitch

A free voice changer for Twitch streams: three ways to get your new voice on stream, with or without OBS.

Real-Time Voice Changer: change your voice live

Your browser will ask for microphone access when you click.

Set it up in Twitch

  1. 01

Easiest: stream to Twitch from a browser studio

Open StreamYard or Restream Studio in Chrome, connect Twitch as the destination, and choose “Facecam Virtual Mic” as the studio's microphone. The studio is the encoder, so no OBS is involved.

  2. 02

In a collab: join Stream Together in Chrome

Stream Together runs its call on twitch.tv in a browser. Open its Settings → Microphone and choose “Facecam Virtual Mic”. The same tab has Noise Suppression and Echo Cancellation; turn them off for effect-heavy voices.

  3. 03

With OBS: bring the mic in through VDO.Ninja

Open vdo.ninja in Chrome, add your camera and mic with the Facecam mic selected, and add the view link to OBS as a Browser source with Control audio via OBS ticked. The OBS page has the full steps.

  4. 04

    Test off-air

Record locally in your studio or OBS before going live and listen back, so you catch filters eating the effect.

Tested by Facecam team. Facecam extension 2.1.0 (test build) in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple silicon), with Chromium's built-in test camera and microphone, not signed in to any app. We opened twitch.tv, not a signed-in Stream Together session and checked from inside that page that its device list listed Facecam Virtual Mic and got sound from it. We didn't sign in or join a call there, so Twitch's own menus in the steps come from Twitch's help pages (see Sources).

If it doesn't work

ProblemFix
OBS doesn't show Facecam Virtual Mic under Mic/AuxIt never will: OBS lists devices installed on your computer, and the Facecam mic exists only inside Chrome. Use one of the three routes above.
In Stream Together my voice cuts in and outNoise Suppression is treating the effect as noise. Turn it off in Settings → Microphone.
Viewers hear me twiceYour real mic is still a source in OBS alongside the VDO.Ninja browser source. Mute the real mic in the mixer.

More about Twitch

What we checked

We opened twitch.tv with the extension on and confirmed the page can see and open the Facecam mic, which is what Stream Together relies on. We didn't run a Stream Together session or a live Twitch broadcast; those steps follow Twitch's help pages.

Questions

Can I add Facecam as a mic in Twitch Studio?

No. Twitch Studio is a desktop app and only sees microphones installed on your computer.

Is using a voice changer allowed on Twitch?

Changing your own voice is common on Twitch, especially for VTubers. Twitch's rules on harassment and impersonation apply as usual.

Does it work for Twitch chat voice or Whispers?

Twitch chat is text. The voice changer affects only what your stream or a Stream Together call hears from your mic.
