Free voice changer for Teams

Change your voice in a Microsoft Teams meeting: join in Chrome and pick Facecam Virtual Mic as your microphone. Free, no sign-up.

Real-Time Voice Changer: change your voice live

Your browser will ask for microphone access when you click.

Set it up in Microsoft Teams

  1. 01

    Open the invite in Chrome

Click the meeting link, choose Join the meeting now, then Continue on this browser. You don't need a Teams account for most meetings; some ask you to verify an email first.

  2. 02

    Pick your voice in Facecam

Click the Facecam icon in Chrome's toolbar and choose a voice under Your voice. Do this before you unmute, so the meeting never hears your normal voice.

  3. 03

Choose the mic before you join

On the pre-join screen, select Computer audio, open Audio settings and set the microphone to “Facecam Virtual Mic”. Then select Join now.

  4. 04

    Or switch during the meeting

Select the dropdown arrow next to Mic in the meeting controls and pick “Facecam Virtual Mic” there.

Tested by Facecam team. Facecam extension 2.1.0 (test build) in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple silicon), with Chromium's built-in test camera and microphone, not signed in to any app. We opened the Teams (free) web page at teams.live.com, not a meeting and checked from inside that page that its device list listed Facecam Virtual Mic and got sound from it. We didn't sign in or join a call there, so Microsoft Teams's own menus in the steps come from Microsoft Teams's help pages (see Sources).

ProblemFix
Teams opens the desktop app insteadCancel the prompt and choose Continue on this browser on the join page. If Teams is your default handler, paste the link into Chrome's address bar.
The mic list only shows my real microphoneReload the meeting tab with Facecam turned on. If a company policy blocks extensions, the Facecam icon won't be in Chrome's toolbar at all.
Teams says it can't use my microphoneIn Teams on the web, open More options → App permissions and turn the microphone on, then refresh. Chrome's own switch is under Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Microphone.

Microsoft's noise suppression page lists the desktop and phone apps but not the web, so there may be no switch to turn off in Chrome. That's why the gentler voices are the safe choice in Teams.

Free Teams meetings

Questions

Does it work in the Teams desktop app?

No. The Teams app only lists microphones installed on your computer. Join the same meeting from Chrome instead.

Will the meeting show that I'm using a voice changer?

No. Teams sees a microphone called Facecam Virtual Mic on your side only. Other people just hear the sound.

Can I use it on a work laptop?

If your IT team allows Chrome extensions, yes: nothing is installed outside Chrome. If extensions are blocked, it can't run.

Does it work in Edge?

Microsoft supports Teams in Edge and Chrome. Facecam is built and tested for Chrome.
