Free voice changer for StreamYard

Go live from StreamYard in a different voice: Facecam Virtual Mic shows up in the studio's mic list in Chrome. Free, no sign-up.

Real-Time Voice Changer: change your voice live

Your browser will ask for microphone access when you click.

Set it up in StreamYard

  1. 01

Choose a voice, then enter the studio

Pick a voice in the Facecam popup first. StreamYard shows a camera and mic check before the studio opens, so the changed voice is ready when it asks.

  2. 02

    Select the mic

In the studio, open Settings at the bottom → Audio → Mic and choose “Facecam Virtual Mic”.

  3. 03

    Decide on StreamYard's processing

In the same Audio tab, turn off Reduce mic background noise for robot, echo or alien voices. Echo cancellation can go off too, but StreamYard says to wear headphones if you do.

  4. 04

    Check it in a recording

Record a minute in the studio without going live and play it back. What you hear there is what viewers get.

Tested by Facecam team. Facecam extension 2.1.0 (test build) in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple silicon), with Chromium's built-in test camera and microphone, not signed in to any app. We opened streamyard.com, not a signed-in studio and checked from inside that page that its device list listed Facecam Virtual Mic and got sound from it. We didn't sign in or join a call there, so StreamYard's own menus in the steps come from StreamYard's help pages (see Sources).

More about StreamYard

Where the stream can go

StreamYard sends the studio to YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Facebook, LinkedIn and X, so one mic choice covers all of them. Its free plan streams to one destination at a time with a StreamYard logo; TikTok needs a custom RTMP destination, which is on paid plans.

A changed voice as a guest

Guests join a StreamYard studio from an invite link in the browser with no account. If you're the guest, the same steps apply: pick the Facecam mic on the entry check, and the host's stream gets your character voice.

Questions

Does StreamYard have its own voice changer?

No. It has audio clean-up settings and built-in sound effects, but nothing that changes how your voice sounds.

Will the changed voice be in my StreamYard recording?

Yes. StreamYard records the mic it's given, and that's the Facecam mic.

Can I switch voices mid-stream?

Yes, from the Facecam popup. StreamYard keeps the same mic, so nothing reconnects.
