Free StreamYard soundboard
Two ways to play sounds on a StreamYard show: its built-in Sound Effects, or your own board through your mic. Free, no sign-up.
Your browser will ask for microphone access when you click.
Set it up in StreamYard
01
Prepare the pads
Add your clips on the Facecam soundboard and click Use these sounds in calls. Stingers and jingles work best trimmed tight.
02
Enter the studio or open the guest link
Hosts open their studio; guests open the invite link in Chrome. Guests need no StreamYard account.
03
Select the mic
At the bottom of the studio open Settings → Audio → Mic and choose “Facecam Virtual Mic”.
04
Stop StreamYard cleaning the audio
Still under Settings → Audio, turn off Echo cancellation and Reduce mic background noise. Echo cancellation also applies noise suppression and automatic gain, which swallow effects. Wear headphones once it's off.
05
Run a private check
Play each sound once before going live and watch the level in StreamYard, so the first air horn isn't the loudest thing in the show.
Tested by Facecam team. Facecam extension 2.1.0 (test build) in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple silicon), with Chromium's built-in test camera and microphone, not signed in to any app. We opened streamyard.com, not a signed-in studio and checked from inside that page that its device list listed Facecam Virtual Mic and got sound from it. We didn't sign in or join a call there, so StreamYard's own menus in the steps come from StreamYard's help pages (see Sources).
If it doesn't work
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| The sound cuts out after the first beat | Echo cancellation or Reduce mic background noise is on. Turn both off in Settings → Audio. |
| Co-hosts hear themselves coming back | With echo cancellation off, speakers leak into your mic. Everyone on the show should use headphones. |
| Music sounds flat | StreamYard's Stereo audio needs Echo cancellation off. Turn Stereo on only if your clips are stereo and you need it. |
| Viewers on the stream hear nothing, guests do | Check your mic isn't muted in the studio, and that you're added to the stream. |
StreamYard's Sound Effects or Facecam's soundboard
| StreamYard Sound Effects | Facecam soundboard | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Media Assets panel → Sounds | Your microphone |
| Sounds | 13 built in, plus uploads up to 30 MB | 10 starter sounds, plus clips up to 10 MB |
| Works as a guest | It's a studio feature | Yes, it's just your mic |
| Hotkeys from any tab | No | Six Chrome shortcuts |
| Audio settings to change | None | Echo cancellation off |
| Also works in | StreamYard only | Meet, discord.com, Zoom on the web |
If you host the show and only stream from StreamYard, its own Sound Effects are simpler: no settings to change and nothing to install. Facecam earns its place when you're a guest, when you want keyboard shortcuts, or when you use the same board in calls all week.
More about StreamYard
Lower my voice
On a talk show, a sting under your own sentence gets lost. The soundboard's Lower my voice while a sound plays option dips your voice for the length of the clip, then brings it back, so you don't need to stop talking on cue.

Questions
Does StreamYard have a soundboard?
Yes. Sound Effects are available to all StreamYard users, in the Media Assets panel under Sounds.
Why would I use Facecam's instead?
As a guest you bring it with you, it has hotkeys that work from any tab, and it's the same board you use in Meet or Discord.
Does it go to Twitch, YouTube and Kick?
Yes. Whatever your mic sends goes wherever StreamYard streams, and those three are StreamYard destinations.
Is the Facecam soundboard free?
Yes, with no account.
