Free soundboard for Mac
A soundboard for your MacBook or iMac that plays into browser calls, with no audio driver to install. Free, no sign-up.
Your browser will ask for microphone access when you click.
Set it up in Mac
01
Give Chrome the microphone
Open Apple menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and switch on Google Chrome. Restart Chrome if it was already open.
02
Add Facecam to Chrome
Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store and pin it to the toolbar.
03
Fill the board
Click Add sounds and choose MP3 or WAV files in the Finder window, or keep the starter set, then click Use these sounds in calls.
04
Choose the mic in your call
In the call site's audio settings select “Facecam Virtual Mic”. Say Allow when Chrome asks for the microphone on that site.
05
Set shortcut keys
Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts and give the first six sounds a key each. They work from any tab, including the call's.
Tested by Facecam team. Facecam extension 2.1.0 (test build) in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple silicon), with Chromium's built-in test camera and microphone, not signed in to any app. On this Mac we opened the sites of Discord, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, StreamYard, Riverside, YouTube, Kick, Twitch, VDO.Ninja and checked from inside each page that it listed and could open Facecam Virtual Mic. The Mac settings in the steps come from the vendor's help pages (see Sources).
If it doesn't work
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| No site in Chrome can hear anything | Google Chrome is switched off under Privacy & Security → Microphone. |
| FaceTime doesn't show the Facecam mic | It can't. FaceTime only uses microphones installed on the Mac. |
| AirPods sound muffled as soon as the call starts | Many Bluetooth headsets drop to a lower-quality mode when their mic is in use. Use the Mac's built-in mic as your real input and keep the AirPods for listening. |
| Clips echo back into the call | Your MacBook's speakers are feeding its mic. Use headphones. |

More about Mac
Compared with Mac soundboard apps
| Facecam in Chrome | A Mac soundboard app with an audio driver | |
|---|---|---|
| Install | A Chrome extension | An app plus a system audio driver you approve |
| Reaches Mac apps and games | No | Yes |
| Reaches browser calls | Yes, in Chrome | Yes |
| Changes macOS sound settings | No | Adds devices to them |
| Removing it | Remove the extension | Uninstall the app and its driver |
If you need sounds in FaceTime, a game or the Discord app, you need the second kind. For browser calls, the lighter one does the job.
