Free Webex soundboard
Sound effects for Webex meetings, played through your mic from the Webex web app in Chrome. Free, no sign-up.
Your browser will ask for microphone access when you click.
Set it up in Webex
01
Get the sounds ready
On the Facecam soundboard, load the starter sounds or your own files and press Use these sounds in calls. Set each pad's volume now; it's harder mid-meeting.
02
Join from your browser
Open the invite, select Join meeting, then Join from your browser. Enter a name and choose Join as a guest if you have no Webex account.
03
Choose the microphone in the preview
In the preview window open Audio options, keep Computer audio, and pick “Facecam Virtual Mic” as the microphone. Test plays it back to you.
04
Switch off Noise removal
Click the arrow by Audio options → Settings → Webex smart audio and turn Noise removal off. With it on, Webex filters out anything that isn't a voice.
05
Join and play
Select Join meeting. Play sounds from the Facecam popup (More → Soundboard) or with your Chrome shortcut keys.
Tested by Facecam team. Facecam extension 2.1.0 (test build) in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple silicon), with Chromium's built-in test camera and microphone, not signed in to any app. We opened the Webex web app's sign-in page, not a meeting and checked from inside that page that its device list listed Facecam Virtual Mic and got sound from it. We didn't sign in or join a call there, so Webex's own menus in the steps come from Webex's help pages (see Sources).
If it doesn't work
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| People hear my voice but not the air horn | Noise removal is still on. Turn it off under Webex smart audio, or try Music mode if your meeting shows it. |
| Facecam Virtual Mic is missing from Audio options | Check chrome://settings/content/microphone allows Webex, then restart Chrome and rejoin from the browser, not the desktop app. |
| The invite keeps opening the Webex app | Use the dropdown next to Join Meeting and pick Use web app, or the Join from this browser link. |
| I'm stuck in the lobby | Guests may wait until the host lets them in. That's Webex, not Facecam; your mic choice is kept. |
Webex smart audio and sound effects
| Option | What Webex does | Sound effects |
|---|---|---|
| Noise removal | Removes background noise; on by default in Chrome | Mostly removed |
| Optimize for my voice | Also removes other people's speech near you | Removed |
| Music mode | Others hear the original sound when you play or sing | Kept, where the option is offered |
| All off | Sends the mic as it is | Kept |
Webex's help page lists these options without saying which ones the web app has. Noise removal is the one it documents for browsers, so that's the switch to check first.
More about Webex
Good manners in a Webex
Webex is mostly used for work and webinars. One well-timed applause lands; a soundboard running through a client call doesn't. Ask the host first, and keep your hand near Esc on the soundboard page, which stops every sound at once.

Questions
Does Webex have its own soundboard?
No soundboard appears in Webex's meeting help. Sounds have to arrive through your microphone, which is how Facecam does it.
Do I need a Webex account?
No. Join as a guest from your browser. Facecam's soundboard needs no account either.
Will it work in a Webex webinar?
Only if you're allowed to unmute. Attendees who can't speak can't play sounds, because the sounds are your microphone.
