Free soundboard for OBS
Get the Facecam soundboard into OBS: on its own as a browser source, or mixed with your mic through VDO.Ninja. Free, no sign-up.
Your browser will ask for microphone access when you click.
Set it up in OBS
01
Decide what OBS should receive
Only the sounds? Add the soundboard page itself as a Browser source, which needs no extension. Your voice and the sounds as one mixed source, with voice ducking? Follow the next steps.
02
Send the board to the extension
In Chrome, open the Facecam soundboard and click Use these sounds in calls.
03
Push the mic from VDO.Ninja
Go to vdo.ninja in Chrome and choose Add your Camera to OBS. Allow the microphone, select “Facecam Virtual Mic” as the audio source, and click Start.
04
Add the view link to OBS
Copy the view link VDO.Ninja shows. In OBS add a Browser source, paste the link, and turn on Control audio via OBS so it gets its own fader in the mixer.
05
Mute your normal mic in OBS
Your voice now arrives inside the browser source. Mute the old Mic/Aux input, or viewers hear you twice.
Tested by Facecam team. Facecam extension 2.1.0 (test build) in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple silicon), with Chromium's built-in test camera and microphone, not signed in to any app. We opened vdo.ninja's start page, the page you push your camera from and checked from inside that page that its device list listed Facecam Virtual Mic and got sound from it. We didn't sign in or join a call there, so VDO.Ninja's own menus in the steps come from VDO.Ninja's help pages (see Sources).
If it doesn't work
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| My voice is doubled on stream | Both the VDO.Ninja source and your regular mic are live in OBS. Mute one. |
| The browser source has no fader | Control audio via OBS is off in the source's properties. |
| Sounds stop after a scene switch | Turn off Shutdown source when not visible on the browser source, or keep it in every scene. |
| VDO.Ninja only offers my real microphone | Reload vdo.ninja with the Facecam extension turned on, then allow the mic again. |
Three ways into OBS
| Route | What OBS gets | Extension | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soundboard page as a Browser source | Sounds only | Not needed | Solo streams; play with Interact |
| VDO.Ninja view link as a Browser source | Your voice and sounds, mixed | Needed | Voice ducking, voice changer plus sounds |
| Capture Chrome's audio | Whatever the Chrome window plays | Not needed | Quick tests |
For the third route, OBS has Application Audio Capture on Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) and Windows 11, and macOS Screen Capture can take a window with its audio on macOS 13 or newer. The soundboard page plays each clip out loud in Chrome, which is the audio these sources pick up.
More about OBS
Why not just pick the mic in OBS
OBS reads microphones from your operating system. Facecam adds its mic inside Chrome's pages only, with no audio driver installed on your computer. OBS's Browser source can't help directly either: it's built on the Chromium Embedded Framework, a separate browser without your extensions. VDO.Ninja bridges the two, because its sending page is an ordinary Chrome tab.

Questions
Does this work in Streamlabs Desktop?
Streamlabs Desktop has Browser sources too, so the same link should work there. These steps were written for OBS Studio.
Can I use the voice changer on the same link?
Yes. The voice changer and the soundboard share the Facecam mic, so the VDO.Ninja source carries both.
Is VDO.Ninja part of Facecam?
No. It's a separate free tool that sends a camera or mic from a browser tab to OBS.
Which route has the least delay?
The soundboard page as a Browser source: the sounds are produced inside OBS itself.
