Terms, Privacy & Acceptable Use

Last updated October 3, 2026
By using Facecam you agree to the Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy below and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. Facecam is for characters, streaming, privacy and fun — never for impersonating real people, by face or by voice.

Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Facecam for using the website, its tools, the Chrome extension and our online services.

1. Who can use Facecam

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You're responsible for your account and everything done with it. Keep your sign-in secure.

2. The service

Facecam is a set of tools for live face and voice, VTubing and virtual personas. It includes:

  • Tools that work right on your computer, such as the voice changer, soundboard, PNGtuber, browser VTuber, webcam effects and camera and mic tests. Your camera and microphone stay on your computer and are not sent to us.
  • The Chrome extension, which changes the face in your webcam video live and shows the result as a camera you can pick in your calls. Your video is sent to our servers, swapped, and sent straight back to your browser.
  • Online tools that work on files and text you send us: photo, GIF and video face swap, the AI voice changer, voice cloning of your own voice, character text-to-speech, the AI VTuber (AITuber) and AI avatar and character generation. Some of these run on our servers and some through the third-party AI providers listed in the Privacy Policy.

We may change, improve or discontinue features.

3. Your content and consent

You keep any rights you have in the images, videos, voice recordings and text you upload. You grant us a limited licence to process them only to provide the service. You promise that every face you upload is yours or used with the explicit permission of the person shown, that every voice you clone is your own, and that your use complies with the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms.

4. AI disclosure

Output from Facecam's AI tools is AI-generated. Files made on an account that has never paid carry a small Facecam mark in the corner, which says where they were made, not that they are AI; we add no visible AI label, so you are responsible for disclosing that content is AI-generated or AI-altered wherever the law requires it. You agree not to present Facecam output (including the live virtual camera) as unaltered footage or recordings of a real person.

5. Plans, billing and cancellation

  • Premium costs $20 per month (plus any applicable tax) and includes 2,400 credits per billing period (about 10 hours of live face swap).
  • Pro costs $50 per month (plus any applicable tax) and includes 6,000 credits per billing period (about 25 hours of live face swap).
  • Credits are spent by the paid tools at the rates shown on our site. Unused monthly credits do not roll over; they reset when each new period is paid. Credits from a one-off top-up bought before top-ups were retired do not expire while your account is open and are used after monthly credits.
  • A new account may get a one-time welcome gift of 15 credits on its first sign-in, once per person. It has no cash value, is used like top-up credits, and we may limit it (for example to confirmed emails, or a few accounts per network a day) to stop abuse. It can't be used for live face swap, which needs a Premium or Pro plan.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can switch between plans or cancel any time from your account via the billing portal. A switch takes effect immediately: the price difference for the rest of the period is charged or credited to your account, and your monthly credits change by the same proportion. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where we decide otherwise. If a session fails because of our service, contact us and we'll credit the time.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

6. Prohibited use and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access, without refund, if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if required by law, or to protect other people. You can stop using Facecam and delete your account at any time by contacting us.

7. Disclaimers

Facecam is provided “as is”. Real-time AI can produce imperfect or unexpected results, and the service depends on your network, on third-party apps and on third-party AI providers. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Facecam is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Facecam against claims arising from your content or your misuse of the service, including use of someone's face or voice without consent.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; we'll post the new version here and tell you about material changes. Questions: support@facecam.ai.

Privacy Policy

What Facecam collects, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
  • Billing: your plan, subscription status and balance. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
  • Session log: when each streaming session started and ended, how much time it used, the extension version, and a fingerprint of each face image you selected (a one-way code, not the image itself).
  • Face images and prompts: faces you upload for live face swap and prompts and reference images you use for AI characters and avatars, processed to provide the service.
  • Files you send to online tools: photos, GIFs and videos for face swap, and audio for the AI voice changer, with a record of each use (tool, status, credits, and a fingerprint of the files).
  • Voice cloning: your voice samples and the consent sentence you read aloud. We keep a consent record for each clone: the sentence you were asked to read, what our speech check heard, how closely it matched, and fingerprints of the recordings. The recordings themselves are deleted like other inputs.
  • Text you type: text for character text-to-speech and messages and character settings for the AI VTuber. Saved AI VTuber characters (name, persona, avatar, voice and chat settings) are stored in your account. We don't store your chat messages.
  • Reports: what you submit on the report form, including your email.
  • How you found us: when you arrive from a link with campaign tags or from an ad, we keep the campaign name, the ad's click code (only if ad measurement is allowed, see Ads and cookies below), the page you landed on (without anything after the “?”) and the website that sent you. This sits in a cookie on your device for 90 days and is saved with your account when you sign up or subscribe.
  • “Email me the link”: if you ask us to email you a page so you can open it on your computer, we keep that address for 30 days, use it only to send that one email, and then delete it.
  • Uninstall survey: if you remove the Chrome extension, Chrome opens a short survey. What you choose to answer (a reason and an optional note) is stored with the extension version only, not linked to you or your account.

The Chrome extension

The extension adds Facecam Virtual Camera and Facecam Virtual Mic to the camera and microphone lists of websites in Chrome. It runs on the pages you visit only to do that: it doesn't read, collect or send the content of pages, their addresses or your browsing history.

  • Kept on your computer: your settings, your sign-in session, faces you save, avatars and sounds you add. Removing the extension deletes them.
  • Face swap (only after you allow it in the extension): while a call uses Facecam Virtual Camera with face swap on, the extension sends your camera video and the character picture you chose to our servers (run by Modal) over an encrypted connection. Your video is swapped and sent straight back; we don't record or keep it. We log each session as described above (times, credits used, extension version and a fingerprint of the character picture). You can withdraw this in the extension at any time (More, then Privacy, then Turn off), which stops it at once.
  • AI voice (when available, and only after you allow it): works the same way with your microphone audio while a call uses Facecam Virtual Mic with AI voice on.
  • Effects, VTuber, PNGtuber, the voice changer and the soundboard run entirely on your computer. Your camera and microphone never leave it in these modes.
  • When you sign in, buy credits or generate a character, the extension talks to facecam.ai and Supabase on your behalf (your account, balance, and the prompt you typed).

Facecam's use of information received through the Chrome extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use it only to provide the features you turn on, and we never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

What we don't do

  • We don't record or store your camera video. Live face swap video is swapped and sent straight back to your browser without being saved.
  • The tools that work right on your computer (for example the voice changer, soundboard, PNGtuber, browser VTuber, webcam effects and tests, and the same modes in the Chrome extension) don't send your camera or microphone to us.
  • We don't sell your personal information for money, and we don't use your face, voice or uploads to train AI models. Your face, voice, camera, microphone, uploads and results are never shared with ad companies.
  • We don't use your face or voice to identify you. Voice cloning creates an AI copy of your voice so you can make speech with it; it is used only for that, only at your request, and you can delete it at any time.

Why we use it

To run the service, bill you, prevent abuse and enforce our Acceptable Use Policy, respond to takedown requests, comply with the law, and, where you allow it, to see which of our ads bring people to Facecam.

Who we share it with

Service providers that run Facecam for us, each only for the part of the service it runs:

  • Supabase (accounts, database and file storage), Stripe (payments) and Vercel (web hosting).
  • Modal (the servers that run our face swap): live face swap (and, when available, AI voice) in the extension and photo, GIF and video face swap.
  • fal.ai, which runs AI tools for us and passes your input to the company behind each one: the AI voice changer (an ElevenLabs model), voice cloning and speech in your cloned voice (MiniMax), the spoken-consent check (ElevenLabs speech to text), character text-to-speech (Kokoro), AI character and avatar images (FLUX by Black Forest Labs, plus background removal), and AI VTuber replies (Anthropic's Claude, reached through fal's OpenRouter router).
  • Ahrefs (cookieless website analytics). It sees which pages are visited and, for our own reports, the campaign or site that sent the visitor.
  • PostHog (product analytics, US servers), only if measurement is allowed (see Ads and cookies below). It receives the pages you visit, clicks, and product events such as signing up, starting or finishing a tool, the credits a result cost, starting or ending a subscription, and how you found us, linked to your account ID once you sign in (never your email). On a few pages without your camera, microphone, uploads or results (the home, pricing, about, install, legal, press and blog pages, and the app's home, billing and settings pages) it may also record a session replay of the page: what was on screen and where you clicked, with everything you type hidden (and in the app, all text). It never receives camera or microphone data, your files or results, the text you type into tools, or anything from the Chrome extension.
  • Ad companies: Google, Meta, TikTok, Reddit and Microsoft, to measure our ads, and only if ad measurement is allowed (see below). When you came from one of their ads and then sign up or subscribe, we tell that company: a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and of your account ID, the ad's click code, the time, the plan price for a purchase, your IP address (at signup) and your browser type. On a few pages without tools (the home, pricing, about and install pages), their tags may also set cookies and see your visit.

We may disclose information when legally required or to protect people from harm.

How long we keep it

Account and billing data for as long as your account is open and as required for tax and accounting. How you found us is kept with your account, but ad click codes and your browser type are removed after 90 days without a new visit from an ad, and the IP address sent with an ad conversion is deleted once it is sent (at most 30 days). Live session logs for up to 12 months. Product analytics events in PostHog for up to 12 months, and session replays for up to 30 days. Reports for as long as needed to resolve them and meet legal obligations. Uninstall survey answers for up to 24 months.

  • Files you upload to online tools (photos, GIFs, videos, audio and voice samples) are deleted as soon as your result is made. Anything left over (for example if something fails) is removed by a daily cleanup, so no upload is kept for more than about a day.
  • Results (swapped images and videos, changed audio, generated speech) are kept for 7 days so you can download them, then deleted on the next daily cleanup.
  • Voice clones are kept until you delete them, though the AI provider may also drop a clone that goes unused for a while. Deleting one makes it unusable at once and removes its preview clip; the provider discards the unused voice on its own schedule. Clone consent records are kept for as long as your account is open, as evidence that each clone was made with consent.
  • Saved AI VTuber characters are kept until you delete them or your account.
  • Records of each use (without the files) are kept with your account history.

The AI providers named above use your inputs only to return results, and keep them only as their own terms allow.

Security

Everything the website and the extension send is encrypted on the way. Access to stored data is limited to the people and services that run Facecam.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to certain processing. Email support@facecam.ai and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Ads and cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your privacy choice. We also keep a first-party cookie that remembers how you found us (above).

  • Ad measurement means the ad companies' tags (Google, Meta, TikTok, Reddit and Microsoft) on the home, pricing, about and install pages, and the signup and purchase messages we send them from our servers, as described under Who we share it with. They never run in the app, in the Chrome extension, or on any page with a tool that uses your camera or microphone.
  • Product analytics (PostHog) follows the same choice: its cookie and local storage (names starting ph_) and the events above are only used when measurement is allowed. It never runs in the Chrome extension or its pages, or in tools embedded on other sites (there we only count a view, with no cookie and no ID, and not at all in the EU, the UK, Switzerland or with Global Privacy Control).
  • In the EU, the UK and Switzerland it is off unless you choose Allow in the banner. We use Google Consent Mode, so Google's tags stay in a denied state until then.
  • Everywhere else it is on unless you turn it off. Under California and similar US state laws this may count as “sharing” personal information for advertising. You can opt out at any time: . We also treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out.
  • Turning it off stops the tags, removes saved ad click codes from your cookie, stops new signup or purchase messages to ad companies for your browser, and stops product analytics (PostHog's cookie and storage are deleted).

The Chrome extension is separate: information it receives is never used for advertising (see The Chrome extension above).

Children

Facecam is not for anyone under 18. We delete accounts we learn belong to minors.

Changes

We'll post updates here and tell you about material changes.

October 3, 2026: live face swap needs a Premium or Pro plan; the welcome credits work on the other paid tools (Terms 5).

October 2, 2026: results made on an account that has never paid carry a small Facecam mark (Terms 4, Acceptable Use 5).

October 2, 2026: added ad measurement (Ads and cookies), how you found us, and the “Email me the link” form. Later the same day: added PostHog product analytics and session replay (Who we share it with, Ads and cookies).

Acceptable Use Policy

Facecam is for characters, streaming, privacy and fun. These rules keep it that way. Breaking them can get your account suspended without a refund.

1. Consent for every face

You may only upload a face image if it is your own face, or you have the explicit, informed permission of the person shown to use their likeness with Facecam. By uploading a face you confirm you have that right. Keep proof of consent — we may ask for it.

  • No faces of celebrities, public figures, politicians or influencers, unless you are that person.
  • No faces of anyone under 18, under any circumstances.
  • No faces scraped from social media, dating sites or other people's photos.

2. Consent for every voice

Voice cloning is for your own voice only. Before every clone you read a one-time consent sentence aloud, and we keep a record of that check. You must not:

  • Clone, or try to clone, anyone else's voice, including by playing or editing recordings of them to pass the consent check.
  • Use the voice changer, character voices or text-to-speech to imitate a specific real person, or upload someone else's recordings to change without their permission.
  • Create audio that puts words in a real person's mouth.

3. No impersonation, fraud or deception

You must not use Facecam to make anyone believe you are a different real person, by face or by voice. That includes:

  • Job interviews, identity or KYC checks, exams, or any verification process.
  • Scams, phishing, romance fraud, extortion, or obtaining money, access or information under a false identity.
  • Pretending to be a specific real person in calls, streams or recordings, including as a “prank”.
  • Political disinformation or fake statements attributed to real people.

Playing an obviously fictional character, or appearing or sounding like a character instead of yourself, is what Facecam is for.

4. No sexual content, harassment or abuse

  • No sexual or nude content of any kind, and never any content involving minors.
  • No non-consensual intimate imagery, “deepfake” sexual content, or sexualised use of anyone's likeness.
  • No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or content that targets a real person.
  • Nothing illegal where you or your audience are.

5. AI disclosure

Facecam draws nothing on your live video, and nothing on the results of an account that has, or has had, a paid plan or bought credits. Photos, GIFs, videos and images made on an account that has only ever had free credits carry a small Facecam mark in the corner; a plan removes it from new results. Photo, GIF, video and audio files carry a hidden, machine-readable AI label inside the file; do not try to remove it. When you use a changed face or voice in a call or stream, or publish photos, recordings or clips made with Facecam, you must say that the face or voice was changed or generated with AI where the law or the platform requires it.

6. Platform rules still apply

Follow the rules of the app you use Facecam in (for example Discord, Google Meet, Zoom or your streaming platform). Many of them prohibit impersonating other people.

7. AI-generated characters and the AI VTuber

Character, avatar and AI VTuber tools are for original, fictional characters. Don't try to generate real people, give an AI VTuber a real person's identity, get around the safety filters, or create content this policy forbids.

8. Enforcement and logging

To enforce this policy we log each streaming session: your account, start and end time, time used, and a fingerprint of each face image you select (a one-way code, not the image itself). We also keep records of each use and voice clone consent records, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't record your camera. We may suspend or close accounts, remove content, and cooperate with law enforcement where legally required.

9. Reporting and takedowns

If you believe Facecam was used with your face or your voice without consent (including a cloned voice), or to impersonate or deceive, report it here or email support@facecam.ai.

  1. We acknowledge reports and review them promptly.
  2. For valid requests to remove non-consensual intimate imagery or misuse of a face or voice that we host or control, we act within 48 hours of a valid request, as required by the TAKE IT DOWN Act.
  3. We suspend the accounts involved where appropriate, and tell you what we did.
