More about this voice
Why it unsettles instead of roaring
| Part | Setting | What you hear |
|---|---|---|
| Half-whisper | Whisper 40% | Part voice, part breath, like someone trying not to be overheard |
| Wrong size | Pitch -2, Tone +1 | Lower in note but smaller in body, a mismatch the ear notices |
| Doubling | Chorus 0.3 times a second, 40% mix | A faint second speaker just behind the first |
| Empty room | Reverb 30% mix, 2.8 s long | A corridor or attic with nothing in it |
Say ordinary things
- Choose harmless lines: a greeting, a lullaby-style rhyme, a remark about the weather. Normal words in this voice disturb more than threats do.
- Speak softly at your usual pitch and leave the breath to the Whisper slider. Really whispering gives the gate, set at -55 dB, too little to open on.
- Smile slightly and keep a gentle, even pace, as though comforting someone.
- Stop mid-thought now and then. An unfinished sentence hanging in 2.8 seconds of reverb invites the listener to complete it.
Near, far or small
The loaded version stands at the far end of a hallway. It suits ghost-story readings, horror game streams and tabletop narration. The second clip lowers the reverb to 10%: a whisper right at your ear, and the one for calls and ASMR-style horror, since nothing trails after the words. The third moves Pitch to +5 and Tone to +4 for a creepy child's voice. That one is strongest in tiny doses, a single line or a hummed tune inside a longer scene told in the main voice.
Free creepy voice changer FAQ
What is the difference between the creepy and scary voices?
The scary voice is deep and aggressive. This one is quiet and close to human, built to make people uneasy more than to startle them.
Can I use the creepy voice on a Google Meet call?
Yes. Once the voice is running for calls, Meet in Chrome lists Facecam Virtual Mic among its microphones. Keep it to friends who know it's you.
Why does my whisper cut in and out?
The noise gate closes below -55 dB. Talk a little louder and rely on the effect for the breathiness.
Can I make it sound like a creepy little kid?
Use the third clip's values, Pitch +5 and Tone +4, which keep the whisper and reverb but shrink the voice.
