What makes it sound like a stream mic

  • A little breath: Whisper at 15% softens the edges of the voice without hiding the words.
  • Air: a 4 dB lift above 6 kHz, the glossy top of a condenser mic held close.
  • Evenness: a 4:1 compressor keeps quiet words up front, the way a streamer's audio chain does.

The lift itself is smaller than the Girl preset's (+4 instead of +5), because a softer delivery sounds more natural a little lower.

Will it pass in Discord voice chat?

It changes the sound of your voice, not your phrasing or laugh. Speaking gently and a bit slower helps more than any slider. It works on discord.com in Chrome, not the Discord app.

Why is there hiss when I'm not talking?

The compressor brings up room noise. The preset mutes the mic between words; if hiss remains, move closer to the mic or lower Output volume.

What's the difference from the girl voice?

Girl is a plain male-to-female shift. This adds breath, air and compression for a close-mic streaming sound.
