Perform like software

  • Keep your volume and energy level. A synthesized singer doesn't run out of breath or trail off, so finish every phrase at full strength.
  • Pronounce syllables as separate, equal beats. That slightly stepped delivery is what reads as synthesized.
  • When you sing, hold notes dead straight and let the 5-a-second vibrato decorate them.
  • The effect doesn't correct your notes. It shifts whatever you sing, so pitch accuracy is still up to you.

Miku, Teto or the general Vocaloid sound

The Teto-style voice sits lower, at Pitch +6, with a 5 dB push around 2 kHz and no vibrato: brassier and more forward. The Vocaloid voice is the general singing-synth sound, with a heavier crusher and a slow flanger sweep. This one is the highest and airiest of the three, and the only one with vibrato built in. The Pitch +6 clip is lower and gentler for long talking streams. The clip with the bit crusher at 60% puts more machine in the voice, which suits covers and character intros.

Free Miku voice changer FAQ

Is this Hatsune Miku's actual voicebank?

No. No voicebank or song audio is involved and it isn't an official product. It's a likeness made by shifting and lightly crushing your own voice.

Can I stream on Twitch with the Miku voice?

Yes, from a browser-based streaming studio in Chrome, where you can select Facecam Virtual Mic as the audio source. Desktop streaming programs don't see it.

Will it make me sing in tune?

No, there is no pitch correction. It raises your voice by a fixed amount, so sing the melody as accurately as you can.

Does it work for a hatsune miku voice changer search too?

Yes, it's the same voice. Miku is simply the short name.
