Reading an announcement properly

  • Go one phrase at a time: the train, then stop; the destination, then stop; the platform, then stop. Each needs about a second of quiet for the 0.38-second echo to clear.
  • Say times and platform numbers slower and louder than everything else. They are the only words travellers listen for.
  • Use the announcer's melody: level through the sentence, dropping on the final word.
  • No chime is added before you speak. Play one from the soundboard and wait for it to ring out.

Under the speaker or across the concourse

The main clip stands you halfway down a platform. The words are readable, with a long wash behind them. The second clip pulls the reverb back to 20% and turns the echo off, which is the sound right under the speaker. Pick it when viewers have to catch every word, such as a stream schedule or a delay joke with a punchline. The third stretches the reverb to 6 seconds at 55%: the main hall, where words run together and only the rhythm survives. It works as atmosphere for a travel video or a railway roleplay scene, not for information.

Free train station announcement voice FAQ

Why does the echo disappear in Discord?

Discord's noise suppression treats the 3.8-second tail as background and removes it. Switch noise suppression off in Voice & Video settings and the hall comes back.

Can I use it for an airport announcement too?

Yes. The same hall and speaker fit a terminal. Shorten the Reverb length a little for a carpeted gate area.

Can I make an announcement clip for a model railway or a video?

Yes. Record or upload the line in the Online Voice Changer with this voice and download the file.

Does it add the chime before the announcement?

No, only your voice is processed. A chime has to come from a sound clip.
