More about this voice

Four kinds of damage, stacked

PartSettingWhat you hear
CorruptionBit crusher 5-bit at 6 kHz, 60% mixGritty, broken-up sound, like a file that didn't finish downloading
FlutterFlanger wobbling 11 times a second, 50% mixA rapid shiver through every vowel that reads as a stutter
BuzzRobot 250 Hz, 30% mixA fixed electronic hum riding under the words
OverloadDistortion drive 0.5, 50% mixPeaks that crackle as if clipping

Perform the glitch yourself

  • The effect shivers but never repeats or skips audio. Do that part with your mouth: say a syllable two or three times, then carry on as if nothing happened.
  • Cut a word off halfway and stay silent for a beat. The noise gate closes and the dropout sounds like lost data.
  • Hold long vowels. The 11-per-second wobble needs a sustained sound to show up.
  • Keep your delivery flat and calm. A system that doesn't notice it's breaking is creepier than one that panics.

Where a glitching voice fits

It suits characters that are software: a malfunctioning AI, a haunted game cartridge, a hacked broadcast in an analog horror video, a VTuber model that 'crashes' as a bit. On stream it works well as a short interruption between scenes. For a whole conversation, load the lighter clip, where crusher and flanger sit at 25% and your voice stays clear with a small glitch on top. The heaviest clip, a 3-bit crusher with the buzz at 60%, is barely speech; treat it as a sound effect.

Free Glitch voice changer FAQ

Does the glitch voice stutter by itself?

No. The fast flanger gives a stutter-like shimmer, but it doesn't repeat or drop syllables. Repeat them yourself, or cut the recording up afterwards in an editor.

Can I use it for a TikTok or YouTube edit?

Yes. Record or upload the line in the Online Voice Changer with these settings and download the file for your edit.

People can't understand me. What should I change?

Lower the Bit crusher and Flanger mixes to about 25%, as in the first variation clip. The buzz and distortion alone keep the digital feel.
