Sound old and certain

  • Take your time and let a sentence hang before you finish it, as if weighing each word. The tremble shows most on long vowels.
  • Speak a little under your breath, then raise your voice on one important word. The contrast reads as power held back.
  • Use formal, roundabout phrasing: riddles, warnings, advice nobody asked for.
  • For a spell, switch to short rhythmic words and stress each one evenly. Nonsense syllables work as long as they sound confident.

Where the wizard earns his keep

This is a storyteller's voice. Use it for the quest-giver in a tabletop campaign, the narrator of a fantasy audio story, a wise-elder bit on stream, or a birthday message to a child who loves magic.

The echo clip (repeats every 0.35 s at 25%) leaves the words of a spell hanging in the air; switch to it for incantations and back again for talk. The clip with Reverb down to 8% is the old wizard at his desk, near and clear, the better choice for long conversations and for recordings that will have music added.

Free wizard voice changer FAQ

Is this a particular wizard from a book or film?

No. It's a general old-wizard style made from pitch, a tremble and reverb, with no recordings of any character or performer in it.

How do I take the shake out of the voice?

Lower the Chorus slider. With it at zero you get a younger, steadier sorcerer in the same hall.

Can I record a wizard voiceover for a video?

Yes. Speak or upload the lines in the Online Voice Changer with the wizard voice, then download the audio for your edit.
