More about this voice

Why the speaker box sounds so bad

PartSettingWhat you hear
HonkMidrange +7 dB around 1.6 kHzA hard, nasal peak, like talking through a cone
No low endBass cut below 600 Hz, treble cut above 2.8 kHzA tiny weatherproof speaker with nothing underneath
CrunchBit crusher 8-bit at 6 kHz, 60% mixConsonants smear into each other; similar words become identical
OverloadDistortion drive 0.4, 60% mixThe headset mic pushed too hard

How to play the order taker

  • Talk fast and run the greeting together as one word. The joke is that the customer catches about half of it.
  • Put your mouth right on the mic. Plosives hitting the distortion give the pops a real headset makes.
  • Trail off at the end of sentences, then repeat the total loudly and clearly. The contrast is what people remember from real orders.
  • Ask the customer to repeat things. It works better than any setting.

Drive-thru, megaphone or PA system?

All three are horn-speaker voices. The megaphone is loud and open, made to carry across a street. The PA system is cleaner and sits in a room with echo around it. The drive-thru is the smallest and worst of the three: the narrowest band, the strongest honk, and the only one with a bit crusher chewing the words. Choose it for comedy sketches, restaurant roleplay and order-window bits on stream. The heavy clip, a 5-bit crusher with distortion 0.7, is the speaker nobody can read an order back from. The clip with the crusher at 20% is the same box on a good day.

Free Drive-thru voice changer FAQ

Can I use it for a TikTok drive-thru skit?

Yes. Record your lines in the Online Voice Changer with this voice, download the audio and lay it under your video.

Can I make it understandable but still funny?

Drop the Bit crusher mix to 20%, as in the good-day clip. The honk stays and the words come through.

Does the drive-thru voice work on a phone?

The live version needs Chrome on a computer. From a phone you can still open the Online Voice Changer and convert a recording.
