More about this voice
A horn speaker plus the room it's in
| Part | Setting | What you hear |
|---|---|---|
| Horn | Bass cut below 300 Hz, treble cut above 4.5 kHz | A ceiling speaker: clear enough, with no warmth |
| Bite | Midrange +4 dB around 2 kHz | The bright edge that cuts over background noise |
| Second speaker | Echo every 0.14 s, 20% mix | The same words arriving again from further down the aisle |
| Building | Reverb 22% mix, 1.2 s long | Hard floors and a high ceiling |
| Amp | Distortion drive 0.2, 40% mix | A touch of strain on loud words |
Paging voice, step by step
- Start with a call for attention and a full stop. People on a shop floor need a moment to look up.
- Say the important part twice: the name, the aisle, the extension. Real pages repeat because rooms swallow words.
- Leave a clear gap after every phrase. The 0.14-second echo doubles each consonant, and rushed speech turns to clatter.
- Use a polite, slightly sing-song tone that falls on the last word of each sentence.
Places this voice belongs
It suits school-announcement skits, store-closing jokes in a group call, warehouse and facility roleplay, and event streams where you want a 'venue' voice for giveaways and schedule changes. Load the classroom clip, with the echo off and a 0.6-second reverb, for morning announcements in a small room. Load the big clip, a 3-second reverb at 35%, for an arena, hangar or empty mall after closing. In that one, slow down further, because the tail covers the next sentence.
The exact settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Noise gate | mutes the mic below -50 dB, between words |
| Distortion | drive 0.2, 40% mix |
| Bass cut | below 300 Hz |
| Treble cut | above 4.5 kHz |
| Midrange | +4 dB around 2 kHz |
| Echo | repeats every 0.14 s, 20% mix |
| Reverb | 22% mix, 1.2 s long |
| Compressor | steadier volume (8:1 from -30 dB, then +6 dB) |

Free PA system voice changer FAQ
Can I use the PA voice in a Zoom meeting?
Yes, in Zoom's web client in Chrome. Start the voice from this page and select Facecam Virtual Mic as the microphone. The Zoom desktop app won't list it.
Why does my voice sound doubled?
That's the 0.14-second echo, which imitates a second speaker further away. Set Echo to zero for a single speaker.
Can I play it through a real loudspeaker?
The changed voice goes to your headphones or to a call, so anything plugged into your computer's audio output will play it. Expect a slight delay if you're in the same room.
