Call it like the PA

  • Stretch the name. Give the position and number flatly, then draw out the player's name and hold its last syllable.
  • After each phrase, wait until you hear the echo come back. Real PA announcers do this so the repeat doesn't trample the next words.
  • Stay level and formal. The excitement belongs to the play-by-play commentator; the PA voice is polite and unhurried.
  • Stick to short announcements: the lineup, the next batter, a welcome to the park. Running commentary turns to soup under a 2.8-second tail.

PA announcer, sports announcer or plain announcer?

This page is the voice coming out of the stadium speakers, with the park audible around it. The sports announcer voice is aimed at the commentator calling the action. The announcer voice is the general broadcast voice this one is built on, before the horns and the stands are added.

The two extra clips move your seat. Echo off with a 0.5-second reverb at 10% puts you inside the booth beside the microphone. An echo every 0.45 seconds at 40% is a bigger park heard from the upper deck.

Free baseball announcer voice generator FAQ

Can I generate walk-up announcements from text?

The Character Voice Generator reads typed text aloud and can add an effect. For this exact stadium sound, record the announcement yourself and run it through the settings shown here.

How do I use it at a little league or backyard game?

Record each announcement in the Online Voice Changer with these settings, download the files and play them from a phone or speaker at the field. The live microphone route needs Chrome on a computer.

Why does the echo make names hard to catch?

The repeat lands 0.32 seconds after every word. Slow down, or use the booth clip, which has no echo and only a short reverb.
