Delivery that reads as male

Narrow your melody. Big rises at the ends of phrases pull the ear back up, whatever the slider says.
Aim the sound at your chest and take the pace down a notch; a lowered note sounds heavy when rushed.
End statements downward. A falling last word is the strongest cue, and no effect can add it for you.
Back off the mic by about a palm's length so the extra 3 dB of bass doesn't turn into boom.

Read the clips the right way

The test line on this page is spoken by a male voice, so the clips don't show a woman becoming a man. They show how far each setting moves a voice. Listen to the gap between before and after, then expect that same gap from your own starting point.

Pitch -3 and Tone -1.5: a lighter male voice. Start here if your voice is already low, or if the main setting turns muddy.
Pitch -7 and Tone -3.5: clearly low. For a high or bright starting voice, or a character who should sound large.

How many steps down do I need?

Most women's voices reach a male range somewhere between Pitch -3 and Pitch -7. Begin at -5, move one step at a time, and keep Tone at half the Pitch value, as all three clips do.

Does it work in Google Meet?
