Where can you use a Halloween voice?
- At the front door: record a few greetings in the Online Voice Changer, download them and play the files from a speaker by the porch. Use the second clip's settings, Pitch -3 and Tone -2 with reverb at 15%: it stays friendly and every word is clear outdoors.
- In a home haunted house: the third clip (reverb 5 s at 50%) is a voice from the far end of the house. Record a short loop and play it from a hidden speaker.
- On a party video call: the main voice makes a good host for costume contests and spooky quizzes, live in Google Meet, Zoom on the web or discord.com in Chrome.
- On a Discord game night: switch to the Halloween voice from the Facecam popup for a ghost-story round. Discord doesn't notice the change, and you stay in the channel.

Pick a costume voice
| Costume | Voice | What it does to your voice |
|---|---|---|
| Witch | Witch voice | Pitch +4, a nasal boost and a little grit: a crooked, cackling old witch |
| Vampire | Vampire voice | Pitch -3, a slow shimmer and a three-second hall: elegant and cold |
| Zombie | Zombie voice | Pitch -5 with a dry rasp and a slow wobble: it groans instead of roars |
| Ghost | Ghost voice | Mostly breath in a long echoing hall: it drifts rather than speaks |
| Devil or demon | Demon voice | Ten steps down, a bigger body and grit, in a dark space |
| Monster or werewolf | Monster voice | Eight steps down with a distorted growl on top |
| Masked slasher | Ghostface voice | Four steps down, distortion and a phone line's narrow band |
| Creepy clown | Pennywise voice | Pitch +3 with a fast, shaky vibrato and a long reverb |
| Killer doll | Chucky voice | A toy-sized body, an adult pitch and a rasp |
Not dressing as anyone in particular? The Halloween voice on this page is the all-rounder: spooky enough for a haunted house, friendly enough for the doorstep.

Add Halloween sound effects
A voice is half the act. The free Halloween soundboard adds the other half, a witch's cackle, a wolf howl, a creaking door, the doorbell and a bell at midnight, and plays in the same call as your voice.

More about this voice
What's in the spooky voice
| Part | Setting | What you hear |
|---|---|---|
| Depth | Pitch -6, Tone -3 | The big, low host of the haunted house |
| Growl | Distortion 0.25, 40% mixed in | Some roughness, mild enough for children to enjoy |
| Echo | Every 0.3 s, 20% mix | Each phrase comes back once or twice |
| Hall | Reverb 35% mix, 3 s long | A large stone hallway |
Host the night
- Play it big and theatrical, like the ringmaster of a ghost train. Roll your r sounds and stretch any word of welcome.
- Give short lines with space after them: a greeting, a warning about the candy, a slow laugh. The echo at 0.3 seconds repeats your last syllable, so end on a strong word.
- Laugh low and slowly in three or four separate beats, and let the hall carry it.
- Judge your audience. For small children, speak warmly and pick the lighter second clip.
The exact settings

| Echo | repeats every 0.3 s, 20% mix |
| Reverb | 35% mix, 3 s long |
| Compressor | steadier volume (4:1 from -24 dB, then +4 dB) |

Free Halloween voice changer FAQ
Is the Halloween voice changer free?
Yes. The voice runs in your browser on your own computer, so trying it here, using it live in calls in Chrome and putting it on a recording cost nothing, with no sign-up to try it.
Can I use the Halloween voice on a Zoom party?
Yes, when you join through Zoom's web client in Chrome and select Facecam Virtual Mic. The desktop Zoom program won't show it.
Does it work in Discord?
Yes, on discord.com in Chrome: pick Facecam Virtual Mic as your input device. The Discord desktop app and the phone app can't see the Facecam mic.
Can I use it on my phone?
Not live: the call voice needs Chrome on a computer. On a phone, record your lines in the Online Voice Changer with the same settings and play the file instead.
Is it too scary for young kids?
The main voice is deep but not harsh. The Pitch -3 clip with less reverb is gentler still, and every slider can be eased further.
How do I make it scarier?
Raise Reverb toward the 5-second, 50% setting of the third clip and speak more slowly. For a harsher sound, try the demon or monster pages.
