More about this voice

Three kinds of harshness, stacked

PartSettingWhat you hear
MassPitch -6, Tone -3A heavy low voice from a large chassis
BuzzRobot 40 Hz, 60% mixA rattling growl that swallows more than half the voice
OverloadDistortion 0.4, 50% mixClipped, angry peaks
GritBit crusher 10-bit, 50% mixCoarse digital noise on every syllable

Make it cold, not loud

  • Speak evenly with no emotion at all. The effects already sound angry, and a calm delivery under them is more unsettling.
  • Use declarations: what will happen, in how long, and that it cannot be stopped.
  • Separate words slightly. With buzz, distortion and crusher together, run-on speech becomes noise.
  • Drop your own pitch at the end of each sentence so the 40 Hz rattle is the last thing heard.

Scenes that suit a hostile machine

  • The antagonist of a sci-fi tabletop campaign or roleplay server, a few lines per scene.
  • Boss lines in fan animations and game mods, recorded with the Online Voice Changer.
  • Stream bits: a takeover, a countdown, a forfeit for a lost bet.
  • Speeches: the second clip adds a 2.5-second reverb at 25%, a machine addressing the last humans. The third, a 5-bit crusher at 80%, is the logic core failing, for a defeat scene.

Free evil robot voice changer FAQ

How is it different from the normal robot voice?

The Robot preset keeps your pitch and has no distortion. This version drops six steps, sets the buzz to 40 Hz at 60% and adds distortion, so it sounds large and hostile.

Can I use it in game voice chat?

Only through a browser. In-game chat and consoles don't list Facecam Virtual Mic, so talk to your team on discord.com in Chrome with that mic selected.

Listeners can't make out my words. What do I turn down?

Lower the Bit crusher mix first, then Distortion. The 40 Hz buzz alone keeps the character.
