More about this voice
A blocked nose, built from EQ
| Part | Setting | What you hear |
|---|---|---|
| Nose | Midrange +9 dB around 1.1 kHz | A low, stuffy honk, like a cold that never clears |
| Dullness | Treble -3 dB above 4 kHz | The sparkle goes, and any hint of enthusiasm with it |
| Sag | Pitch -1 | Just under your own note: tired, not deep |
| Body | Bass cut below 200 Hz, Tone +1 | Thin and slightly pinched, with no warmth |
Sounding this bored takes effort
- Flatten your melody. Stay on one or two notes for the whole sentence and let the final word droop.
- Sigh before you start. The sigh passes through the nose boost and comes out as contempt.
- Drag the vowels in words of complaint and leave the pause of someone who would prefer not to answer.
- Best lines: sarcastic thanks, reading out house rules, a weary review of a friend's taste in music.
Squidward next to the sponge and the starfish
The three neighbours from the show sit far apart on the sliders. The SpongeBob-style voice goes up to Pitch +7 with its boost at 2 kHz, so it is high and bright. The Patrick-style voice drops to Pitch -3 with Tone -4 and no nose at all: big and slow. This one stays beside your own pitch and gets its whole character from EQ, which makes it the easiest of the three to hold for an hour and the one that keeps most of your own acting. If the main clip isn't stuffy enough, the Midrange +12 dB clip is fully through the nose; Pitch -3 is lower and even less impressed.

| Midrange | +9 dB around 1.1 kHz |
| Treble | -3 dB above 4 kHz |
| Compressor | steadier volume (4:1 from -24 dB, then +4 dB) |

Free Squidward voice changer FAQ
Can I use the Squidward voice on Discord?
In the browser, yes. Open discord.com in Chrome, press Use this voice in calls on this page, and pick Facecam Virtual Mic as the input device. The Discord desktop app can't see that mic.
Is it Squidward's actual voice from the show?
No, and it isn't an official one either. It is your voice reshaped with pitch and EQ to resemble him; nothing is sampled from the series.
Why does it sound like I have a cold?
That's the 9 dB boost around 1.1 kHz doing its job. Lower the Midrange slider a little if you want less of it.
