How the voice gets building-sized

PartSettingWhat you hear
ScalePitch -9, Tone -6A voice from something many times your size
EngineRobot 35 Hz, 45% mixA slow mechanical throb, like heavy machinery idling
HullBass +5 dB below 140 Hz, treble cut above 5 kHzDeep rumble with a dull top
DistanceReverb 22%, 2 sSound rolling back off buildings

Speak like something that moves slowly

  • Halve your speed. Nine steps down blurs fast speech, and a giant shouldn't hurry.
  • Use lines of three to six words: system states, targets, warnings.
  • Wait for the two-second tail to fade before the next line.
  • Speak a little higher and brighter than normal. The settings pull you far down, and starting high keeps the words readable.

Giant robot, Optimus Prime or the giant?

The Optimus Prime-style voice is a character: six steps down, robot buzz at only 10%, warm and clear enough for speeches. The giant voice is a huge living creature with no machine in it. The giant robot goes lower than both and is nearly half buzz, so it is for scale and threat, not conversation. Two clips change the scene: reverb at 4 seconds and 35% for powering up inside the hangar, and reverb off with the band narrowed to 300 Hz–3.5 kHz for the pilot's voice over the mech's speakers.

Free giant robot voice changer FAQ

Why is the giant robot hard to understand?

Pitch -9 with a 35 Hz buzz leaves little detail. Talk slowly, or raise Pitch to around -6 and lower the Robot mix.

Does it work in VRChat or other desktop games?

No. Desktop games can't select Facecam Virtual Mic; it only shows up in sites open in a Chrome tab. For game footage, record the lines in the Online Voice Changer and add them in the edit.

My voice is already deep. Does it still work?

Yes, though it may turn to rumble. Bring Pitch up two or three steps until the consonants come back.
