The crusher damages the sound but never drops words for you. Stop dead mid-sentence, count one, and carry on; the noise gate closes in the gap and it sounds like a loose wire.
Turn your head away from the mic for a word or two. The level dips, the gate chops the quiet part, and the listener hears a dropout.
Keep sentences to a handful of words. At 6-bit, long lines turn into noise.
Speak a little louder than normal and steadily. Mumbled consonants are the first thing the crusher destroys.

As it loads: the most damaged version. Good for one-line threats and for sound design under a video.
Bit crusher at 25%: more of the words survive. Pick this one for roleplay where others have to answer you.
Pitch -9: slower and heavier, a looming version. Clarity drops again, so save it for short lines.

None of the three has reverb, which keeps the voice close and lets call software pass it through untouched.
