Where it works
Made with Facecam

A Canvas loop, from text
“A vertical looping music visual: a glowing violet jellyfish drifts slowly upward through deep blue water, tiny bioluminescent particles float around it, soft light rays from above, dreamy and hypnotic, smooth seamless motion”

Before A seamless loop, from cover art
“The koi fish swims slowly in a full circle around the center, the rings of light ripple outward, the cherry blossom petals drift gently on the dark water, calm and hypnotic, the camera holds still, seamless loop”

How to use Spotify Canvas Maker
Describe the loop
Write one slow motion that could repeat forever and fits the song's mood: smoke curling, a jellyfish drifting, rain on neon. Tall 9:16 is already picked.
Or loop your cover art
Click + and add the artwork cropped to 9:16, then turn on Loop: the clip ends on the same frame it starts on, so it repeats without a jump.
Add it in Spotify for Artists
Download the MP4, open the track in Spotify for Artists, choose Canvas and upload the file.
What is a Spotify Canvas?
A Spotify Canvas is the 3 to 8 second vertical video loop that plays behind a song in the Spotify app in place of the still cover. Artists add it in Spotify for Artists; this maker creates one with AI in about a minute.
What you can do with Spotify Canvas Maker
A moving cover on release day
Give a new single its loop the day it drops, without a video shoot.
Match the artwork
Start from the cover itself so the Canvas and the album art look like one piece.
Every track on the album
One prompt per song, each in its own mood, all in the same style.

Spotify Canvas Maker features

A true loop

Making a Canvas that loops
Spotify repeats the Canvas for as long as the song plays, so the last frame has to meet the first. Starting from a picture, turn on Loop: the picture becomes the end frame too, and the model brings the motion back to it. From text, pick motion with no clear start or end: drifting, swirling, pulsing light, falling rain. Avoid a camera that travels somewhere or an action that finishes, like a door opening. End the prompt with “seamless loop” and keep the camera still or slowly drifting. Spotify's guidelines also ask for no text, logos or links on the Canvas, so leave the song title off.

Spotify Canvas Maker FAQ
How do I make a Spotify Canvas?
Write a short looping scene (or add your cover art), keep 9:16 and 5 seconds, click Generate and download the MP4. Then upload it to the track in Spotify for Artists under Canvas.
What size is a Spotify Canvas?
Vertical 9:16 and at least 720 pixels tall. A 720p clip from this maker is 720 × 1280, and 1080p gives 1080 × 1920.
How long can a Spotify Canvas be?
3 to 8 seconds. Choose 5 seconds here; Spotify loops it for as long as the track plays.
Can I make a Canvas from my album cover?
Yes. Add the cover as the start image, turn on Loop and describe gentle motion. Crop it to 9:16 first, because the clip keeps the shape of the picture it starts on.
Who can upload a Canvas?
Artists and their teams with access to the artist profile in Spotify for Artists. The Canvas shows in the Spotify mobile app once it's approved.
Does the Canvas need sound?
No. Spotify plays your song over it, so a silent clip is what you want.
