Free OBS PNGTuber
A PNGTuber in OBS from a single link: paste it into a Browser source and the character talks when you do. Free, no sign-up.
Your browser will ask for microphone access when you click.
Set it up in OBS
01
Copy the OBS link
In the PNGTuber Maker, choose Pip, Mochi, Bolt or Fern, adjust the settings, and click Copy OBS link under Use in OBS.
02
Add a Browser source
In OBS, click + under Sources, choose Browser, and paste the link into URL. Use the width and height shown next to the link in the maker.
03
Let OBS hear your mic
Close OBS and start it with --enable-media-stream. On Windows, add it to the end of the shortcut's Target; on a Mac, start OBS from Terminal with it. The maker shows the exact command.
04
Talk
The mouth follows your default microphone. Changed the character or its settings? Copy the link again and replace the URL.
Tested by Facecam team. Facecam extension 2.1.0 (test build) in Chromium 153.0.8010.12 on macOS 26.5.1 (Apple silicon), with Chromium's built-in test camera and microphone, not signed in to any app. We opened vdo.ninja's start page, the page you push your camera from and checked from inside that page that its device list listed Facecam Virtual Camera and got video from it (1280x720). We didn't sign in or join a call there, so VDO.Ninja's own menus in the steps come from VDO.Ninja's help pages (see Sources).
If it doesn't work
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| The source says it can't hear a mic | OBS wasn't started with --enable-media-stream. Quit it fully and start it with the flag. |
| The source says to click it once | Right-click the source, choose Interact, and click inside the page so it may start the mic. |
| The source says the link is missing its avatar | The URL was cut off when pasting. Copy the OBS link again. |
| There's a coloured box behind the character | The background in the maker was set to a colour. Set it to Transparent and copy the link again. |
Starter character, your own art, or the Facecam camera
| You have | Route into OBS | Needs the extension |
|---|---|---|
| A starter character | OBS link in a Browser source | No |
| Your own pictures | Green screen background, capture the Chrome window, Chroma Key filter | No |
| A PNGTuber already set as your Facecam camera | vdo.ninja: Add your Camera to OBS, then its view link as a Browser source | Yes |
For your own art: set the background to Green screen, keep the maker in its own Chrome window, capture that window, crop it to the preview, then right-click the source, choose Filters and add Chroma Key. On macOS 13 or newer, OBS's macOS Screen Capture source replaces Window Capture.
More about OBS
Why the link can be pasted straight in
A Browser source is a small browser built into OBS. It has no Chrome extensions, which is why Facecam's camera can't be used there, but the OBS link needs none: the page holds the character and its settings in the address itself and runs entirely on your computer.

Questions
Is the background transparent?
Yes. The OBS link page is see-through, so the character sits directly on your scene.
Does it work in Streamlabs Desktop?
Streamlabs Desktop has a Browser source as well. We haven't tested the mic flag there.
Do I need an account or to pay?
No. The link is free and needs no sign-in.
Which mic does it listen to?
Your system's default microphone. Change the default in your computer's sound settings if it picks the wrong one.
