Facecam team
The people who build Facecam's face swap, voice and VTuber tools also write its blog. We sign posts as a team.
How we test
- A post with a "How we tested" box is based on a dated session with our own tools on facecam.ai. The box gives the date, the browser and the setup.
- Sessions run in a Chromium browser with a test camera and microphone: the camera plays a clip of an AI-made person and the microphone plays a synthetic speech sample. No real person's face or voice is in our test footage.
- Timings, levels and limits in a post come from that session's notes or from the tool's own code. When a test went badly, the post says so.
- Posts say what we didn't test and where a tool falls short.
When we write about other products
- A post with a "How we checked" box is a review of public sources, such as a product's own help pages, privacy policy and store listings. It says so at the top and is never presented as a hands-on test.
- Every outside fact is listed at the end of the post with a link and the date we read it. If we couldn't confirm something, we leave it out.
- We make tools that compete with some of the products we write about. Those posts stick to what the product's own pages say.
Dates and ratings
- Published is the day the post went live.
- Updated appears only after a real edit to the post. We don't change a date to make a post look new.
- We don't write our own star ratings or reviews, on the page or in its markup.
